Parris Goebel is a talented, self-taught dancer (no formal training!) from New Zealand. After Casper showed me some of her YouTube videos, we selected her to help choreograph the world tour and the music video, "Goin' In."
According to Parris, she watches clips on YouTube “to get base foundations of styles, then I add my flavor. It's called ‘polyswagg.’” She doesn’t take long to come up with choreography — she builds a base, then lets each piece evolve as it’s rehearsed by the dancers. Here’s what some of the dancers on our tour had to say about her:
To find out more about Parris, have a look at what she shared about her experience working together (thank you, Parris, for all the sweet things you said about me and my dancers!):

Being approached to choreograph for the tour:
I got a call from Casper saying could we submit some work to a couple of Jennifer’s songs. I got my dancers from The Royal Family dance crew to do the songs and sent them up. They loved what we did and then asked if I could work on 4 numbers in the show. I was totally blown away that firstly, Jen had watched my work, and then felt really privileged to work with her.
Working together:
Working with Jen is great as she is a true professional. Having a really strong dance background herself she knows what she wants and what looks good. I spent the first day holding in the excitement of actually meeting her in person. She is really open to everything I taught her, but just know her standard is always high. She is really down to earth and just awesome to work with.
Finding inspiration:
Without a doubt, inspiration comes from the actual music itself and the lyrics. Jen has a certain feeling she wants the audience to have for each song, so my job is to bring that feeling to life through dance. Jen is amazing and her dancers are a very talented and passionate group who love what they do. When I saw them on stage I got goosebumps and loved seeing it all come together after all the hours and rehearsals. “Baby, I Love You” is a favorite, but the whole experience is definitely an honor.
Which performers do you love watching?
Jennifer
