According to a report published earlier this year by Nielsen, 63 percent of Americans own smartphones, and that number is even higher for Latinos. Seventy-five percent of Latinos in the U.S. own smartphones, making the demographic an important customer base for the wireless industry.

Earlier today, Verizon Wireless introduced the newest premium retailer to give consumers the ability to purchase the latest smartphones and tablets on its 4G LTE network – Viva Móvil by Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer Lopez launched Viva Móvil in collaboration with Brightstar, a global distribution and services company, and Moorehead Communications, Verizon Wireless’ largest premium retailer. Viva Móvil will offer consumers a full service shopping experience online, in customized stores and on mobile devices.

Viva Móvil will revolutionize the wireless shopping experience for Latino consumers with a unique social shopping experience through its Facebook page. While on the page, consumers can get personalized recommendations, shop with their friends, comment on devices and share what device or accessory they purchased – all while staying connected on Facebook. Consumers can interact with Viva Móvil on getviva.com and the Viva Móvil Facebook page beginning today.

In the next few weeks, the Viva Móvil by Jennifer will announce store opening in major markets including New York, Los Angeles and Miami.

The American Red Cross — An incredible organization that is instrumental in disaster relief and building safer communities on both a national and international level.

Boys & Girls Club of America — For more than 150 years, the Boys & Girls Club of America has provided a safe place for children to learn and grow in a safe environment that fosters confidence and companionship.

Children's Hospital Los Angeles — This hospital is the first and largest pediatric hospital in Southern California with an unmatched dedication to pediatric health care. It is one medical center that is very near and dear to my heart and inspires the work I do with the Lopez Family Foundation.

Now through December 17, you will have the chance to make a contribution that directly supports all of these incredible charities that have dedicated themselves to making the world a better place. In exchange for your generosity, one person (plus a friend!) will receive airfare and a hotel room to meet me backstage in Puerto Rico after the last show of my Dance Again World Tour.

Tomorrow is Election Day and there's never been a more important time to get out to the polls and vote. As a woman and a Latina, there is only one choice — President Obama. His advocacy on behalf of women and they steps he's taken to create more opportunities in the Latino community is why I support him.

President Obama is a man who understands what it's like for families who are struggling and want create a better future for their children. Under a Republican administration, we risk losing all of the progress we've made over the past four years. Join me and become a part of Latinos for Obama and don't forget to vote!

UNESCO Foundation Charity Gala

As many of you know, my work with the Lopez Family Foundation is very close to my heart. As mothers, my sister Lynda and I recognize the importance of having access to quality health care and the difference it can make for families. Through the foundation, we are committed to providing increased access to resources including clinics, health care education and doctors so that no child is left without.

With UNESCO Special Ambassador, Dr. Ute Ohoven and my sister, Lynda Lopez.

A few days ago the UNESCO Foundation (United Nations Educational Scientific Cultural Organization) honored the Lopez Family Foundation with the Pyramide con Marni award, which is nothing short of remarkable.

The gala in Dussledorf united many supporters of the UNESCO Foundation and programs that work toward building stronger communities to create more opportunities. It is truly an honor to be recognized by an organization who works tirelessly around the world to bring children a better future through aid, various programs and education. I'm so proud of what the foundation has been able to achieve and now with this additional opportunity through the UNESCO Foundation, we will be able to continue to grow and provide for underserved communities.

As many of you know, I've been doing a "Tweet2Meet" contest for every city on my tour and so far, the responses have been unbelievable! I can't believe how many of you have submitted pictures — there were so many in Paris it was hard choosing only three winners! As Hurricane Sandy approaches, our thoughts are with those in the path of the storm and we hope that you, your family and friends are safe. Here’s how you can get help now. For hurricane preparedness tips, you can download our Hurricane App to your smart phone, or click here to view them online.

Hurricane Sandy continues to move toward the Northeast, with hurricane-force winds extending more than 100 miles per hour from the center. States of emergency have been declared so far in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Thousands of flights have been cancelled. In New York City, public transportation has been closed and bridges may close as well depending on wind strength. Hurricane Sandy has already caused the cancellation of around 100 American Red Cross blood drives and more cancellations are expected as the storm continues to hit the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

With the support of our partners and volunteers, so far we’ve:

* Opened 112 shelters in 9 states serving 3,200 people

* Mobilized nearly 170 Emergency Response Vehicles to move at a moment’s notice

* Secured more than 230,000 shelf-stable meals

* Readied thousands of supplies such as cots, comfort kits and clean up kits

You can stand with us and help the families and individuals impacted by Sandy, and thousands of disasters across the country each year, by making a donation to American Red Cross Disaster Relief.

Every Vote Counts

Whatever happens in my life, it's always the women around me who help me get through it — my mom, sisters, cousins, friends, and my daughter, Emme. They inspire me and they've made me who I am today.

Thanks to President Obama, the women in my life, and women across the country, have seen true progress. We will get access to the affordable quality health care we deserve because of Obamacare. Girls can see three women on the Supreme Court and look up to them as role models. Women have greater ability to fight back when they don't get equal pay for equal work.

Having a president who is a strong advocate for women means a lot to me. And I'm not alone — take a look at this video and see what I mean:

Growing up, my family didn't always have a lot — plenty of people told me a girl from the Bronx could never make it. But my mom was a teacher who worked hard to send me and my sisters to school, and I refused to give up on my dreams.

That's President Obama's story, too. He didn't have anything handed to him.

So when he talks about giving everyone a chance to succeed, no matter where you started out, it's because he knows what it's like for families who are struggling to make ends meet and make a better life for their kids.

President Obama has got our backs. We've got to get his.

Watch this video, then pass it along. It's up to us to make sure every woman makes her voice heard in this election.
